My wife and I had an enjoyable fourth of July fishing off Block Island. Calm seas, full moon, fireworks from three directions and the bass were hungry for eels on light tackle.

Way to go, Roy!

On Friday at The Gut, with three of us on board Ceili, we each got a keeper (30", 33" and 37") within an hour. They were liking eels real well.

After that we tried to entice a couple of blues to join us but they weren't having any, so it was back to the dock and grilled Striped Bass for a party at the club house.
