Has anyone ever seen and or ridden in a 24' blackfin fisherman. I am considering buying one with twin v eight inboards. Any information would be appreciated as to coments on the quality of the boat, ride, speed, handeling, and if the boat is a wet or dry ride.

I have never been on one, however they are a great looking hull!

Also, having never been on one, I can't give you a first hand account. I believe its the same hull though as the North Coast 24. I also think that Shamock used this same mold for a couple of years - you occasionally see twin engine 24' Shamrocks on the market - same boat, or same hull at least. This may help you widen your search for opinions on the ride and handling - do a yachtworld.com or boattrader.com search and you may find the same boat under different names.

I believe that Charlie Jannace designed the hull, as he did for the Blackfins as well as some of the keeled Shamrocks. I think its a very similar hull form to the Blackfin 29, which has earned a very good reputation for rough water handling. Must be a beast though, with all that weight and torque, albeit at the expense of some fishing room.

good luck!

I have a 1978 24' Combi with twin 302's. Has to be one of the best riding hulls of any small boat ever made. Rock solid quality too. If it would just get a little better mileage...email me if you need more info
