Anybody heading this way for the boat show? We could possibly meet somewhere for beer or perhaps even take my humble craft for a spin. She is located close enough to downtown Annapolis to be onboard in 10 minutes and far enough away to not have to deal with the crowd. I can also point anyone interested toward whatever type food and drink establishments away from the downtown mob they might be interested in.
BTW, for anyone coming to town, both bridges on Rowe Blvd are under construction, the Spa Creek Bridge is or was under construction and the College Creek bridge inside the USNA yard is under construction. So traffic is going to be a worse nightmare than the typical Annapolis gridlock. Stopping at the stadium and riding the bus or walking would probably be a good idea this year. The only good news on traffic is that Navy will (hopefully) finally be beating Notre Dame at the Meadowlands. Apparently our City Fathers have finally figured out that the boat shows should not be scheduled at the same time as a home football game.

Shamrock is listed as an exhibitor. It will likely be through Tidewater Marine.

We'll be at the show on Sat. I'm curious to see if Tidewater has gotten any of the "Palmer" Shammies yet. I believe they're the oldest Shamrock dealer so maybe they have first dibs?
All they had at the show last year was the 22 WAC but that was all it took to make my mind up! Believe it or not, they haven't sold it yet so it'll probably be there again. I'd like to see that 29 offshore they've got. :D
We'll be taking the bus in, just let me know if you'll be there Sat.
Regards,
GD

You should drive over the Bay Bridge (of course they are working on it too) to Tidewater's lot in St. Michaels if you have time - 45 minutes away if both bridges are running. Or, if they have it this year, come up for their in water Shammie show a couple of weeks after the boat show. They were the Super Wal Mart of Shamrocks last time I was by their lot. I don't know if they have room for any Palmer boats, but I hope so.
Perhaps I can introduce you to Grreatdog. Quite a specimen considering he was free to me because some northern Virginia yuppie couple spent a small fortune on a fine animal thinking that goldens are decoration.

If the weather cooperates we may take The red boat. Great Dog if I put over at Sandy Point and ran in would there be a place to tie up? We plan on going Friday.

The entire inner part of the harbor is used so there won't be any public spots downtown unless a mooring is open. You would need to go to Spa Creek or Back Creek in Eastport and take the water taxi or walk over the bridge. There is an excellent dinghy beach in Weems Creek 3 blocks from the buses at the stadium. But who carries a dinghy in a 20' boat.
Let me know if you do that. I would like to see that boat with my own eyes.
BTW, Matapeake State Park on Kent Island is about the same run minus the bridge traffic. But I think you need a QA County sticker.

I think they have an honor box there. That is probably a better idea than Sandy Pt. If the weather cooperates it should be fun!

My buddy's boat is at Podickory Point and I know from experience that beating straight up and down the Bay along the Sandy Point side is usually worse than crossing it. You almost always end up taking the chop right on the nose one direction or the other and that definitely is not a 20' Shamrock's sweet zone without a wet suit.

Ok, so where were the Shammies?? We walked around the whole place twice and didn't see them. The organizers pointed us to where they were supposed to be but they weren't there. Kind of a bummer.
On the bright side, the wife really liked the 63 Bertram. Just need to win the lottery first!
Grreatdog, sorry we didn't connect up, did I miss your second call or did something come up? At least the weather was nice...and not as crowded as last year.

Sorry for the confusion. I thought you were going to call me when you headed out for lunch. But I had to go back to USNA after walking over anyway because it started raining and I didn't have a jacket with me. By the time I got back into the Yard it was raining hard enough that I decided to go home and try again today. I sure wasn't expecting rain and thunderstorms yesterday.
I am thankful that you guys didn't have to go up I-95 to get home. What a disaster.
