Shamrock is gone....Here is the new ride:

Took delivery in 25 kts winds and 3 foot chop. Rode the 15 miles from the ramp to the marina at 26-30 kts with a very smooth and comfortable ride.

It was a heart-wrenching decision, but this Prosports Pro Kat will let me do more of what I want to do.

I'm gonna keep using this site, however. Lots of good info. I may have outboards now, but at least they are four-strokes, so don't kick me off

Congrats on the new ride. Cats really are superior in many applications. I just can't stand all that stuff off the transom.

A buddy has a 34' Kevlacat (the aussie built ones) with twin Yanmar 315 screws...now that is sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

How much for the pretty Panther decals on the sides?

How ya think they'd look on the Lep?

Why should we kick you off the site. Not gonna happen.

Congrats on finding the boat you wanted, Like the man said: "No accounting for taste." ;-)

I could have done without the cat decals, matter of fact I am deciding whether or not to pull them off now. (Lep: If I do, I will pull them off real carefully and mail them to you!!) This boat as rigged, which included some stuff I would never pay for (including the decals), was still cheaper than putting together the boat I wanted from scratch.

I had been speaking to the dealer, actually a few dealers, since late last Fall. I had my boat on the market for about 3 months, planning to sell it first and then but the new one. After that time had passed, I discussed the possibility of a trade with the dealer, suggesting that since I had a boat I liked, I was in no hurry and would not mind waiting a year if I needed to, but wanted to find out what we could do now. When he gave me his bottom line, and I considered current and predicted prices of new, the value of mine, what he gave me in trade, and current and future interest rates on a loan, I decided to make the move now.
