New member here in the Tampa Bay area. I am a recent transplant from the great state of Kentucky and looking to get into the boating scene here. Most of my experience has been with the inboard variety, so naturally a Shammy is the obvious choice for me. However, I am not very familiar with all the different models and choices. I am thinking of something in the 22' size.........still torn between a walk around or a center console. Diving, fishing, and general cruising with friends will be the main uses. I am looking for any advice, opinions or any other kind of direction on what might be the best choice. Also, anybody in the area can direct me to a dealer or any other place I might find a good used boat.
Thanks folks!!!

She's still for sale if interested. I'm just on the other side of Florida in Fort Lauderdale.
Also, the Shamrock factory is just down the road from you in Cape Coral.
Good Luck.

Welcome to the Tampa Bay area. If you want Shamrock advice this is the place for you. If you want to talk fishing in the Gulf of Mexico check out floridasportsman.com, forums, West Central Florida.
I have a Shamrock 20 walk thru that I am selling but it sounds like you are looking for something bigger. The Kingfish will be arriving soon and the Grouper bite is already on. :!:

I am still searching for what might best fit my needs. I am still up in the air about what boat would best fit my needs and still work in the water around here. I do have plans to make a trip or two down to the keys for some extended diving trips at some point and would like to be able to also go offshore. Therefore, I am leaning towards something in the 22+ range. I really like the 220 ( CC w/bow cuddy). Any advice on the keel drive or the pocket drive for the water in this area?
Thanks fellas........Scott

Hey Scott,
Got a 2002 Shamrock 22ft Stalker, thats the model with the center console and cutty cabin. A GREAT boat that handles and rides like a yacht and also turns heads wherever you go. The cuddy cabin is great for the ladies to change in or get out from under the sun, and I like the additional lackable storage capability. Its a practical and fun machine.
Hi: there are at least 2 260 opens for sale on this site, One is a 99 and mine is a 97. Be sure to try a 26 after you try a 22. Good Luck, Mel

Hi Scott, Welcome to the tampa area. I have a 20' open fish center console for sale. I've done alot to it over the last two years. I just listed it on this forum and you can see pics on the listing. It is priced right, no serious offer refused. I've bought another boat so I'm motivated. I work in tampa, and boat is in Clearwater/Palm Harbor. Feel free to call me at 727-656-5142 to take a look and a ride.

After doing some reading and discussion with some folks........I really think I might be going after a new 220. I like the idea of the FI 5.7 (330 HP). Either way, I really want something bigger than a 20, I looked at a couple over the weekend and just don't think its big enough. I just got rid of two high performance offshore boats.......I am tired of working on boats. I want something I can just enjoy for a change, which is why i tend to lean towards a new one. Stay in touch!!
Scott
