If you have the 2" diameter, white plastic Southco "slam" latches like are found on the '98 200 Open's transom access hatch or livewell door and they are dying or dead..... Here's a place that sells both the OEM white plastic version or its SS replacement:

His prices, for the latches, seem to be about 15% less than other places I found on the WEB. He's located in the FL Keys and also sells Starboard in all sorts of "put-up" sizes as well as providing marine oriented cabinetry and fabrications.
