I am wondering if the diesel boats come with bilge blowers like the gasoline boats and if so, how much people use them? Thanks.

Yes they do. The only time I every use it is when the boat has sat for a day or two with the battery charger running. But when running from one fishing spot to another I don’t use it.

Len,
I'm probably not a very good example. I don't use my blower but it certainly can't hurt and I should. Diesel is combustible but not flamable. Diesel ignites under compression as opposed to being ignited with a spark. Therefore, I believe the need to use a blower in a diesel is greatly reduced. If nothing else, if you had a fuel leak and used your blower it might alert you by blowing the fumes out of the bilge and allow you to smell it. Although not flamable, I for one do not want to operate my boat with diesel sloshing around in the bilge. To answer your question, yes. You can never be to safe.

I just can't figure out how anyone can have a bilge full of diesel, and not smell it. Specially when in a Mack. The only time I use my blower is to get the smell of fish out of my bilge'
