In case anyone is remotely interested, here are some snapshots from our current engine overhauls at work. We are doing all 4 main engines. Besides, I need the practice with my posting.

Ahh....to have an engine room. Did they go in/out without cutting up the deck? I see the chains, so figure they weren't done in the hole.

Mistress-

We are actually doing "in-frames" where the engine stays in place and the liners, pistons and heads are replaced.

I have to disconnect the engines from the gearbox and jack them up so we can get to the crank from underneath after dropping the pan. The rubber Vulcan engine/gear flex couplings are all shot too and are being replaced.

The boat has a "soft patch" or removable overhead in case the whole engine must come out.

Between this and the weather, my Shamrock season is closing fast.//Ed

We 'gots' CAT 3412E's driving waterjets. They push a 100 ft catamaran up to 35 kts.
