I have been looking at the used market for 22 Shams and muskey fish the St. Lawrence up to ice out. Any recommendations/experience on which diesel/s would be preferred for the cold weather? Several people have been attempting to talk me out of a diesel.
I made the non-diesel decision on me f-250 w/ a gas v-10 and have been paying at the pump thereafter!!!

Havn't found the downside yet. This is my 1st year with a 14 year old diesel after 30 years of gas engines. It preformed great with normal maintanance I don'tthink the weather is a problem with the fuel additives they make for them now , if it was the commercial guys wouldn't use them.

You might consider an engine block heater if you hav shore power. will keep the block warm for easier starts and quicker warm up. All the commercial boats around here are diesel and they run thm year round almost continously.

I got a couple of magnetic engine heaters at NAPA. for my business trucks they work great. You will need shore power.
