Anyone have a personal experience with the H & S Marine kit for the Dodge Cummins? I've read some stuff on boat diesel but was hoping to hear from some Shamrock Owners.

Just what I've heard on Boatdiesel. Personally...I think there's too many used or recon Cummins engines to get real exited about marinizing a truck engine. Somewhat common to see low hour, full engines with gear, in the 10-12 k bracket.

FWIW I have an '01 Dodge 3500 with Cummins

I know a guy selling an '02 cummins that was wrecked for $2500. The engine has 22,000 miles on it and was kinda thinking about putting it in the boat. I found out that the kit is around $6000 + transmission + misc. other items. Doesn't look like it's worth it in the end. . . Thanks!

BTW, love the cummins diesel. I just sold my 1993 Dodge 3500 diesel. It had over 300,000 on it. Ran perfect.

I'd buy the truck, pull the engine and sell it on the truck site for $5-6K if it's not damaged from the accident.

The engine is perfect, still runs but no radiator. Might do that. . .

I wish it was on the East coast.
