I have a 1987 Shamrock that the power control knob cracked and broke off. The foward and reverse knob is not doing much better. It seems that the thread at the top of the post is an odd size that very few replacement parts were ever made. It appears to be a 7/16 with a 20 thread. Many of the replacement balls are 3/8 with a 24 thread. Does anyone know where I can get just replacement knobs?

I think most every Shammy I've seen has used Morse controls (now owned by Teleflex). You should be able to order replacement knobs directly from a Morse/Teleflex dealer (which would be about any boatyard or boat dealer). There are several aftermarket replacement knobs out there but I'd be really surprised if they didn't fit Morse since that is the predominant control manufacturer in the marine market.
