I am sure some of us are going fishing now and then but why nobody posts in advance? ( Or do they ???)
If some of us see that other friends here planning to go out fishing, it may just enough to boil our blood to join them. I mean as buddy boaters.
I love the idea of going out to fishing with a few boats few hundred yards apart. I feel safer, I don't get bored, plus I increase my chances to find a good fishing spot with each additional boat of a friend.

We do that on more local boards Jim. This board is pretty spread out geographically. I suspect the local Shammies to you are active on other sites (like bloodydecks, allcoast, etc.) with that kind of info. Lot of non-Shammies too.

Oh I see! I am aware of the Bloodydecks.com but I wanted to know if any shammies going out and when...
By the way today (9/22/07) I was out at Mission Bay and it was like a washing machine.
I'll try again in a day or two right after this weird storm passes.

Hey Jim,
It's been a while since I posted, but the work on 2nd CHANCE is done.
After FFIV I started with the kinked exhaust hose (went to the wired per MISTRESS, thnx Steve), had the tanks cut open and cleaned by Dwyn Hendrickson out of MDR and he also installed a new racor set up and 43ft of new fuel line, This guy knows his stuff. 2nd CHANCE is up and RUNNING! Did the Fuel and oil filters and oil change myself and i watched and Mr. Hendrickson do all the work he performed on my boat and learned a few more things about my boat.
Did a 90 mile trip out and around Catalina with 3 Adults on board, another 8 hr cruise ot of MDR with the BWITW, and her 4 American Eskimoe's, and yes they did christen the 2nd CHANCE, with barf, all day long! These dog's were turning green all day! Nice to have the self bailing deck! Did Castaic Lake by myself for about 8hrs and have yet to develop any further (ghost's in the machine). The Perkins is delivering flawless performance and I have just done new Fuel Filters and oil filter and oil change today so I can run the numbers when I go out this week.
It's nice to be back in the water and not having to call VA to get home!
Jim, I'm ready to go this week.
Call me at 818-288-7154
Anyone want to tag along, Call me.
Anyone needing diesel fuel related work, I highly recommend Dwyn Hendrickson, his # is 310-722-1203.
He ain't cheap, but he solved my problems and taught me a great deal about my Shammie. Money well spent.
Thank you Mr. Hendrickson!!

He means Friday, September 28th. He's towing his boat from Utah to San Diego on Thursday and we're heading out fishing on Friday. The last I heard, Albies are back at the Butterfly.
Come join us!!

Actually I'll be on my boat on Thursday and stay on board at the marina.
Let me know what time you guys will be leaving and from where?
I'll be at the Mission Bay as usual.

Jim,
Are you looking for a crew to go with you? I know of 2 who are interested. Please let me know because they need to make arrangements to take off work Friday.
We're thinking about targeting the Dorado, YFT, and Yellow tail around the 425-371-302 triangle and maybe down to the hidden bank and upper finger bank. A guy went to the upper finger yesterday and scored down there. He saw two Marlins jumping out of the water and he tried to bait them, but had no luck. The upper Finger is 36 NM from Pt. Loma on a SSE heading (152 degree heading).

We will meet at Shelter Island ramp at 4 AM. Pick up bait and head for the 425, finger bank area. Let's meet at the EB bait barge in SD bay. We'll use channel 68.
