For anyone in the area who might be interested, at least a couple of us are getting together for a beer in Stamford this Friday night. Right now its SCOffshore and myself, anyone else who's interested let us know. Looks like we are going to meet at Tigin's Irish Pub, 175 Bedford Street, right in downtown. I'm coming in on a train, getting in around 6, so I'll be there around 6:15 or so.

Chuck - I know you said Fridays were bad. If you can't make it we'll have to schedule something later. If its mid-May onwards, it could be out on the water chasing some bass for the evening too.

Skip - don't know if you and the missus are around. Anyone else in the CT/NY area, just stop on by.

Hutch if you need me to pick you up from the Station, let me know. Not a problem for me to swing by.

Thanks for the offer - I'm driving to the station in the morning, taking the train to Boston for a mtg and then coming back, so I'll have a car.

Bit of a ride from Huntington by car. Maybe in season I (we) can join you for a beer in Stamford or Norwalk. That trip across the pond is only about forty minutes or so. We head over to Norwalk two or three times a season. Nice little town with good restaurants.

Yea Holty - this was opportunistic, not really a planned event. We should definately do something in season though. I run up to Norwalk a few times a year as well, its about 40 minutes for me too. And I'm going to take the kids over to the sand hole on Lloyd Neck this summer, our oldest had a blast there last year.

Fitting that we'll be talking Shamrocks at a good irish pub!

Would love to get together sometime. Can't bring myself to deal w/ the traffic at that end of the state on a Fri. night though.

Neither would I Jim. I'm taking Amtrak back from Boston though - want to jump on in Saybrook or something? ;) ;) ;)

When I was in college I interned with a small Marine Engineering firm in Essex, CT. Lived with my girlfriend in Fairfield CT. I drove a 1971 Chevy Nova, rusted out rear fenders, rotted rear deck, and burned a qt of oil every 100 miles. No A/C of course, but I couldn't ride with the windows down b/c it created a backdraft and pulled the exhaust into the car through the trunk - would get a killer headache. So I fought that I-95 traffic every evening all summer long with my windows up. Probably lost ten pounds.

Someday we'll cruise all the way out to your neighborhood, maybe even up the CT River to Essex. Tie up, have a beer at the Grizwold Inn, and kick back. Got to think about sumpthin to get through the winter.

Hutch, we do our thing at the 'sand hole' every now and then. My avatar picture was taken there. Have been dying to make the run to the Ct. river for a long weekend but it has yet to happen. The first mate doesn't like the idea of a 2 1/2 hr boat ride.

Sorry guys, Just read the post so I missed the get-to-gether. Let me know about the next one.
I had fun at the sand hole myself this past season so let me know about a get-to-gether there in season and I'll come over.

Will do Chuck - it was just SCOffshore (kinda funny to call him that in CT) and myself. We'll try for a weekday next time if that's easier for you.
