Man oh Man, just finished an entire day project to fix four 20 cent screws. Seems the windshield turn locks that bring the fold-out windshields tight to the frame are aluminum and over time one-by-one all four corroded through and broke off, leaving me with no way to really close the windshields tight. So to repair I had to take out the windshields, remove the glass from the frames, (What a PITA this job was) scrape out the cut urethane bedding and then replace the cheap-ass aluminum flat-heads that are UNDER the glass with good quality stainless flat heads. Sounds easy, but believe me, one of the tougher jobs I've tackled on this boat to date. You've got to be super careful cutting the glass out with razor knives - one false move and the glass will crack and God knows where to locate this weird brown tint safety glass that Shamrock uses. Anyway, re-installed with Black silicone glue and looks like new and now no more annoying leaks on my electronics and down into (And behind my Dash). Anyone with a 20' or 26' cuddy (Predator) will eventually face this repair, and having just taken a friends '99 26' Express out for trials, I noticed his new rig has EXACTLY the same crappy aluminum screw setup. One would think Shamrock would have changed to stainless, but that might have cost the plant about $0.80. Just venting I guess. Regards, Leprechaun
