1. UpgradingTanks
I have a '93 20' Open Widebody. My current fuel capasity is 70 gals (2 x 35gals.) I recently came across some old Shamrock marketing material('95 to '97)evidencing the 80 to 90 gallons in the 20' Open Widebody. Assuming all things are equil (the hull footprint) can I replcae the tanks and increase the fuel tank capacity (with ease or difficulty)? If so, what are the pros and cons to this (boat efficency, handing, etc.)?
Thanks

I have a 91 20SE. I believe the original tanks in this boat were 35 gallons each. I'm fairly sure they were replaced once because when I had them pulled just two months ago for replacement (I'd just purchased the boat and did not know what condition they were in and once you pull 'em you may as well replace them and stop worrying about it) I found there were 45 gallon tanks. I figure the originals were replaced by larger tanks. If there's room for them physically, I can't imagine 50 or 60 pounds more of a fuel load would be any detriment to the vessels' handling.
