I am removing the 351 motor from my 1989 22 predator. I want to be sure that the removal of the two lag bolts in each motor mount is sufficient.

Pulling the lag bolts to the stringer on each motor mount worked on my 20 center console, but it is a much older boat built in 76. The lessons that I learned, though, are that the lag bolt heads typically broke off upon removal and we had to extract the remainder from the stringer. Another lesson we learned the hard way is to take apart and clean up/free up the motor mounts while the motor is out, otherwise they may not move when you put the motor back in. At that point it is a REAL hassle to align. Good luck.
