What oil should I use to feplace the existing oil in the resevoir which has water on in it. There is no identification on the system which I believe is original. The boat is an '84 20ft cwa.

I got your message CAPN RON about using Transmission fluid and will go that way. The water got into the system when the previous owner didn't properly level the trailer when stored. Thanks for the guidance. Michael
