I have a 170 with the Mitsubishi,in one of the threads I read, someone mentioned that the mitsubishi is basically the same as the Dodge Caravan or K-car engine. Do you know the actual model # of these engines? I have over 1300 hours on mine,it still runs good but I'm thinking of building a spare. Also, what is your opinion of the 4 cyl. chevy Indmar in relation to the Mitsubishi and will it bolt to the same tranny? Thank you in advance, Steve

The mitsubishi engine in the 170 is the same as the 2.6 mitsubishi in Dodge Minivans, K-cars and several other models. Some people swear by them, some at them. I think their great engines as long as you don't overheat them. One time and the head needs to be resurfaced.
So keep a good eye on your t-stat and cooling system.
