THE BILGE BLOWER ON MY 22' CUTTY CABIN DOESN'T WORK, AND IT ISN'T WHERE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHERE TO LOOK BEFORE I START TAKING THINGS APART?

I have a 20 c/c. My blowers are on the transom (one on each side) beneath the removable transom liner. There are three removable access panels in the transom liner (one center and one on each side). Take a flashlight and look behind the side panels. I know our boats are different lengths and styles, but this is the logical place to look: they won't be in the engine compartment, nor the cabin, nor below the deckline; that does not leave many other places for them to be. The blowers may not be (and probably are not) readily visible behind the access panels because also mounted to the transom should be the livebait/washdown pump and the water/fuel filter. If your blowers are on the transom, just remove the transom bolster and then the transom liner to gain working access. You should have two blowers and it is not likely that they would fail at the same time. If you're getting no blower response when you flip your bilge blower switch, I'd first check the switch and the circuit. Hope this helps.

Rejoice,
220 Stalker here. Before Shamrock changed the center console, the blowers were in the port and starboard liners like Hawkeye mentioned. In my case, I had to cut the silicone embedded liners away from the deck and inner liner, remove the screws from the vent outside on the hull then remove the liner itself. It is an easy fix, just a pain in the neck. Shamrock tooled the liners to fit the Detmar blowers specifically. Detmar also made the white vents as well. I replaced both blowers when I bought my boat three years ago. They still work but need to be relubed. E-mail me if you have additional questions. Detmar # 757 - Blowers, 721 on the vents. Can be special ordered by any local marine dealer.
