Wonder if someone can help me do a little long distance part determination. Have a 1991 20 SE with a 302 Ford engine. If someone has one of these and could tell me the type of raw water pump on this motor, I'd could order a spare impeller before fishing time. I'm certain it is a Johannsen, but didn't write the number down when I was last with the boat at Thanksgiving. The vesselis at the coast 275 miles away and I can't inveigle the yard guy to crawl in with a flashlight--without a one-hour labor charge of $65. Thanks

Go to www.skidim.com and they have an online store and a phone help desk. I bought mine from them for about $34 each. They have a catalog and they have everything I have ever sought. Ask if they have a silicone version for your boat, I read those have double life. I am not sure if you saw my post to another question, but the impeller is not an inspectable item. The manufacturer says removal is detrimental and it takes a very exprienced eye even then to determine the fitness of the impeller. They reccomend you take a spare and, at least on my 220 WA with a 351, it only takes a std screwdriver and a pair of pliers to change. I used my fishing pliers. Keep a close watch on your temperature and it will tell you when to change the inpeller. If the slip you keep your boat in grounds the hull out at low tide, then your impeller will suffer, otherwise they last several hundred hours. Good Luck, Lee

HJ, on my 91,302 the Johnson pump has F6B-9 stamped on the cover.
My spare impeller has johnson 1027 stamped on it. Hope this helps if I can get you any other numbers let me know.

Maybe I can help. Is your pump belt driven and located down low on the front starboard side ala PCM? If so, its probably a Sherwood pump and I can give you a reference # for the impellor. If its center mounted over the crank-shaft pulley like an Indmar installation, then I've got no idea and someone else will need to volunteer. Which, to the best of your recollection is it? The pump type of the 302 engine should be belt driven. This is a Sherwwod G-21 model and uses a 9959K impeller number. For reference to all the major kit is #12665 and minor kit is #12339. The seal is #12859 and cam is #15883. Cover gasket/o-ring is 12231/12885. If more parts than that are needed buy a new pump.

Engineman is correct - IF you have a PCM engine. If you have an Indmar, like one fellow at my dock - you will find that the pump is mounted on the engine crank pulley and those quoted parts will not fit. Best to go look at the engine and then repost - don't worry Spring is coming and this isn't a tough job. Leprechaun
