What temperature does anyone's 170 with a Mitsu engine run? My engine idles at 160 and at 3000 around 185....Seems like a great deal of temp fluctuation....Any comments would be appreciated..

Mine stays a pretty constant 170f (FWC). you might want to check your stat. first.

You failed to mention the type of cooling system you have. If your engine is FWC, then air in the closed system will result in higher than normal temps. at high RPM. Try bleeding the closed system before you do anything else!

All Mitsubishi's are FWC because of the aluminum head and cast iron block.

It's FWC....I've always checked the heat exchanger and it's always full...It has a recovery bottle which always seems normal. The stat that's in it is 160 degrees. It seems to check out also. No leaks on the heat exchanger.

My Mitsu ran consistently at 150 degrees. On a really hot day it might hit 160.
