1. Pleasuecraft 351 Ford Repower

Does anyone have a good source for a Pleasurecraft/Seamax 351 Ford bobtail engine? Looking to repower and want to find a good dealer to purchase engine from.
Regards
Randy

I just bought a new 351 H O bobtail from Marine Engines of Holliston Mass. The reason I got the H O was that they were sold out of regular carb models. Even the H O is in short supply. The price was $5,839. plus $79.00 freight anywhere. I received the motor in three days all well packed in perfect condition. The injected models are available for about $2,000. more so I coudn't justify the added expense. I had also checked with Discount Inboard Marine, their stock situation was the same, and were at $5,999. plus approx. $350. for freight...really nice people and very helpful. I also checked Engineman 1, but someone at their place is not on the right page or something, because they kept insisting that their carb version price was $7,800. I hope all this helps...Good Luck!

Randy - why are you buying an entire bobtail. Why not just buy the Marine Longblock for around $3K and just transplant your current add-on peripherals? Its what I'm gonna do. Leprechaun

I read the post from redstone and am quite dismayed. We should try to help all of our customers wether an owner or a dealer. Engines1 is a distributor for Sea Maxx engines. We work very hard to support our dealers who promote our products. Sometimes this creates an overzealous situation. I apologize for the bad info.
With all of the B.S. out of the way I will meet or beat any verifiable quote on a Sea Maxx product. We keep a fairly large inventory on these and can usually ship an engine now.
To clear up some info the 351 is only available in a right hand (clockwise rotation) in the 265hp carb version, for a limited time. The 285hp 351HO is avaiable in left hand rotation with right hand rotation coming soon. The prices range from about $5500.00. All of our engines are fresh water cooled and set up for the Warner Gear bolt pattern.

Hey I bought mine (351w 4bbl) in Miami for 998$ fresh rebuilt w/warrenty. A Long block.
They advertise in Boat Trader Mag.
1.5yr. old never a problem. so I'm not paying $5500 BS.

you must tell them you want a marine 351W.std. rotation.

I used Delmarine, Inc. Owner chris Mcguirk 232 South Ketcham Avenue Amityville, New York
(631) 598-2946
FAX (631) 598-3524
to repower my 20' shamrock cuddy with a 351, 5.8 liter, carb., bobtail engine, from Sea Maxx. I was 100% satisfied with del marine's service and expertise. I would recomend them highly.

Hey Montalk - that shop you mentioned is about 10 minutes, on a slow day, from my house. If you don't mind, could you share what he charged for the job? It would be illuminating for the board. Also, where do you keep your boat, I MUST have seen you around, if you keep it in the area. Rgds, Leprechaun - Seaford, New York
