Left aboard the SSII at 5am and started fishing after an extremely long ride out. The ride was about 4 hours 20 minutes. Was a little snotty getting out and smoothed out the rest of the day.

Took me a while to catch my first fish, but it finally happened. After seeing my first fish, thought that it was going to be a great day. Ended up being that way, great.

Bottom fishing in 265' is not as fun as it sounds. It will wear you out! Many times I was grunting and groaning! Snapped a few pics this morning...enjoy.

This is what I ended up with for the day.

And this is my CITATION!! 5 POUNDS 2 OZ! Also, my first fish of the day. Should have stopped fishing right then and slept. Maybe I would have felt like going to Hatteras this morning.

Met some good guys.

Sean - WOW ............... 4 hours and 20 minutes is a long ride to catch Sea Bass. But it paid off with that paper fish. How long did you guys get to fish? How far out were you? Sounds like 60 to 80 miles.

Mike,

Thats 4 hrs and 20 min at 12 knots. Would have been faster (not much) in a Shammy! But it was rough, steady fives, with a six for fun.

We got to fish for about 6 hours. We stayed longer due to the fact that the boat wasn't putting up the numbers of bass, I think. The comms hit those wrecks pretty hard during the week. 3000 lbs a day!

And when I turned my handy ETREX  off for the day we were 63.5 miles away from the sea bouy.

Got lots of good numbers!
