Crew:
Eric Bowen
Steve Bowen
Kelly O'Bannon
Boat:
AQUAHOLIC
WX:
BEAUTIFUL, nice S wind and a FLAT BAY!
What went down:
Met the guys at Crab Creek and splashed the boat. Promptly, headed over to the Eastern Shore, Bouy 13. The fleet was anchored up and heard several reports that they were be caught " all around us"! Things looked promising!
Dropped the hook and baited up. We were using Sea Clams, and peelers (that were just barely considered that!). Didn't take us long and the pod came swimming by! Steve and I hooked up, but alas it wasn't my turn yet. Landed Steve's 45 1/2" er and quickly released it. This happened throughout the night on several occasions. Next, up was Kelly with a 46"er, then me with a 46"er and then Eric landed a 44"er. Also caught 2 other short ones, and the "HORSE'EM IN MEN" broke two off. Starting to get a little late, we decided to hold off on the REDS and head to the barn. But the belt had other plans for us. Broken belt, tow to Kiptopeake, ride across the bridge, get belts out of truck (needless to say those suckers are on the boat now!), and go install. Uneventful morning after that going back to Lynnhaven. Arrived home at 5:30 am! Up for work at 7:20!
Hurting today, but worth it! Might try the REDS Friday night! I will be back over there...hint Chuck, need to get you over there!
