Damon and I will be heading offshore Friday, June 13th to fish for Albacore. I may stay out over Friday nite or travel out for Yellowtail on Saturday. Damon will be returning to San Diego Friday afternoon. Looking for other Shammies that want to join us.

We will depart San Diego between 2am and 4am depending on how close the Albies are to the coast. Will pick up bait and head south. Damon has a 26' PH and I have a 22' WAC. Total trip may exceed 220 nm so consider your need for extra fuel. You'll need Mexican fishing license and boat permit.

PM me if you want more info.

Sounds like an awesome trip. But it's a little out of boats league. And I don't have that Mexican boat permit yet. Where is the best place to get the permit?

I get mine thru the Vagabundos Del Mar club as I live in Utah. Since you are in So Cal, most any sporting goods dealer will have them. Angler's Inn and JD's in the Newport Beach area are two shops that care them.

Your 20" open would be uncomfortable on this trip but I may fish the Coronados Saturday and your boat would certainly handle that well. YT up to 30 pounds reported south of the Rockpile.

Long run for the alberts, gonna wait until they get closer. As for the yellowtail I heard they are down by the bull ring and or the towers. The rockpile and islands have been poor for a week or more. Good luck and hope you bloody the decks.

El bombero, it is a long run for albies. Hope the reports this weekend show them much closer. Thanks for the heads up on the YT. Are you heading out next weekend?

Wife has me scheduled for lots of honey do's this weekend. Sorry. The season really hasn't started yet, I'm sure we can buddy boat out sometime in the near future.

Albies have moved within 60 miles of San Diego. This reduces the trip from brutal to hardcore. We'll be leaving about 3AM and start fishing about 6am. Anyone want to join now?
