I plan on fishing Sat, Sun, and a 1/2 day Monday wxr permitting.

I am going to have to go alone? Nobody wants some tuna & dolphin action? No problemo...that just means all the more for me to slice & dice & bag up for momma when I get back to the dock. Yeeehaaa!!! Gavin

Gavin

I was out on the Chesapeake today for a 3 hour run on flat seas with beutiful sunshine.

I haven't gotten the chance to catch any decent fish this year and would love to meet you down in Hatteras. In fact I was seconds away from blowing off all of my responsiblities in an attempt to find out just how many time i would need to fill up on the way down the bay and the intercoastal.

But alas, not only would my wife use my remains for chum, I would miss my kids. So good luck on the fish, and enjoy yourself for all of us.

By the way, you do a great job with this site. You really make it easy for new owners to get the info we need to really understand and enjoy our boats.

Fair seas and tight lines,

Thanks for the kind words my friend. They are very much appreciated. I couldn't figure out why my e-mail to Hatteras Landing wasn't answered. Called down there, and heard the bad news. Booked to the hilt. Teach's has one slip, and it aint even a slip. I am meshed against the bulkhead over by the fuel pumps. They just built HOW MANY slips last year? Un-real. Ya know, I don't mind fishing around a few folks, but I aint staying tied up to a damn bulkhead beside the fuel pumps that's for sure. No shower facilities there, so a hotel is needed. Called every hotel I knew, booked is the word. Should have known that father's day weekend would bring all kinds of dads down there. I don't think I am going to feel too comfortable with no shower facilities AND parked next to the damn fuel pumps. Think it's time to hit the guy up the street with the new-to-him 01 32' Alby. The Big ROck is happening this weekend, so pretty much everywhere ya go it's gonna be a packed weekend for boating. No thanks. I like things a bit more on the peaceful side. I am there to relax, not fight crowds. Looks like Hatteras is put on hold again. This spring/summer thing is really being a PITA this year. If it aint the wxr, it's the crowds. Gavin

I hate to tell you this Gavin, but my wife is taking me to the Bahamas this weekend in my Shamrock. Leaving Friday and back on Father's day. We've got reservations at a nice little resort near West End on Grand Bahama. Kids all have baby sitters or other commitments. Since it's Father's day she said she'd clean the fish (we'll see). I'll post a report on that one if it happens!

Well, nothing to report. Got there and back and I thought it was tolerable. Seas were big and mama don't like big seas. Spent big $ getting there and back and didn't even wet a hook. Shoulda left her at home.... Oh Well. Why don't they like fishing like we do? It was a trying weekend. Patience, Ed, Patience.
