I just got back from a mini vacation with my wife so here's what happened on Monday the 31st.
I took my neighbor and we decided to go for halibut since it looked pretty bad on the outside and I didn't see any posts about other boats running for tuna. When we got got to the launch ramp at 6am there were a few boats heading for the canyon so we changed our minds and ran for albacore. Unfortunately, I left all my tuna gear at home so we headed out with 17 and 20lb rigs.
Ran fast for 10 miles and it got steadily worse until the 38/24 area where we slowed to 15ks. Dropped the lines in around 38/29 and trolled west to 38/33 where we put 4 in the boat in about an hour. One fish went 28lbs, lots of fun on 20# line. I'll be running again on Friday. see you out there.
