Went out Sunday night, 14 miles east of Miami Beach in 1400 ft.

Three lines out with light sticks attached, 150 ft, 200 ft and 250 ft down.

100 lb + swordfish on 80lb........took about 50 minutes to land.

Congratulations, nice score! Would you post details of your trip (tackle, bait, beer brand). I am planning to do an overnighter for swords this weekend (they're a lot farther out on my side of the dirt) and would appreciate any tips.

Guys:

I ran 140 degrees out of Haulover Inlet, 14 miles east to the edge. Put out a 5 gallon bucket filled with chum..(cut 1" holes in the bucket to allow the chum to create a chum line).

Set out three rods, all with light sticks. One at approx. 150 ft down, another at approx 250 ft down and the third at appox. 300 ft down. I used large squid which you can get from Baitmasters in Miami.

If you have a glow strip that helps attract the fish.......I used my spreader lights.

Watch your drift, you do not want to drift to the west much, you want to drift north along the edge.

Then you wait, drink bud light and if your lucky you'll land one.

Good luck.....
