Greetings from the frozen north:
2003 is turning out to be a record year for returning salmon in the Pacific Northwest. Previous years involved much travel time to locate the different species of salmon. This year within a half hour of my dock I've taken springs, pinks, sockeye and all within rowing distance of Vancouver, a population of a million people. Most of whom own boats. Considering they are our only sport fish left in any abundance, I'm suitably impressed.
Now what to do with all this meat?
