I put the model 2000 on my 220 warrior and niw the stern is wet. It did solve the problem of my getting wet and the boat planes better and runs faster.
Any suggestions?

:( Don't waste your money on the Smart Rails! They dry up the ride very little and have no other value whats so ever. Further the Comapny will not stand behind their product!

Who the Hell is the sniper?
First negative opinion I have heard about the smart rails. Second best mod I have done to my 26'Predator, the first being the windlass.
Dude, you put yours on upside down or on the roof?
Love my Smart Rails.

Your right they are a waist of money no matter where you install them.

I'm not a particular fan of SmartRails, and I don't have them on my boat. But I think that anyone who wants to bad mouth them, should post pictures of their boat with SmartRails installed. I've heard quite a number of positive responses to their installation. Not that they stop all spray, but that they reduce the amount of spray, considerably. The design would clearly reduce some spray volume, if properly installed. Spray rails are used extensively on custom built boats all over the world.
The potential to scrub them off, on a dock not located in a "no wake" zone is another story, but for some boats, I'm sure they are effective spray reducers.
Just my view,
Charles

I installed them this summer on my 22WA. First let me say that the Smart Rail company (Chris?) was very responsive to my calls, even offered up his cell phone number if I could not get him at the office..
I installed mine just above my boot stripe, 4 1/2 footers on each side.
At trolling speed they knock down a ton of the "nuisance spray". While running they knock down a lot of spray but not as much as I had hoped (my expectations were a bit unrealistic though).
Installation was super easy.. SUPER EASY. My Dad and I did the entire job in 45 minutesand there is no way I can see them coming off unless you grind them off.
Hope this helps anyone considering buying the smart rail.
Well hell, Squid! If you run like in your avatar pic, no wonder they don't knock down the spray :!:  :D :D :D (J/K)
Do ya think that if you'd have put the full 9' on each side that they would be more effective? I'm seriously considering them for my 200 Open as a "next Spring" upgrade (wifey doesn't like getting hosed down in the snotty stuff, for that matter, neither do I).
Do you have any pics of your installation? It seems that others may have installed them a little higher on the boat, from the descriptions I've heard.

Kurt,
I love that photo! :D
Actually, we are planing off on top of a nice "swell", but I do run her harder than most I guess. I am still in denial and having a hard time getting used to running at 20 MPH so I tend to push the throttle a bit.
Anyway...I don't have any up close photos to help. I think the 9 footer would be slightly better but from reading the posts of others I'd have to believe it would be a minimal improvement at best. The reason I would go with the 9 footers if I had to do it all over again is purely aesthetic. They seem like an add on at 4 1/2 feet, but at 9 feet I could make them look like they belong there.
I can try and take some pics if you'd like. Just let me know.
