I am really hopeing to actually catch a legal WSB this year. And I am wanting to plan a trip to Catalina to help increase my odds.

I would also like to meet some of the people from this message board. It seems that there are quite a few of us in Southern California.

I was thinking that since that place gets a LOT of pressure on the weekends when the bite is on, that leaving early on a Thursday morning to get set-up for fishing Thurday afternoon and Friday morning would increase the likelyhood of success.

The first week in April is the earliest that I could possibly get away from work. I think April and May would be prime time for this to happen. I have a pretty good idea of where the Seabass should be, but don't hold me to it  . If any of you guys and gals that have any experience with the WSB let me know if there are better options. I keep my boat on a trailer, so the Channel Islands are also a possibility I just want to go fishing and meet some fellow Shamrock owners.

Assuming that Catalina is the destination I would most likely launch from Dana Point at first light to get an early start. Of course this will only happen if the weather is favorable. I will definately be making this trip at least once this year just for the WSB, and I hope it will include some of you folks!

Just post on this thread with any ideas or if you might be interested in this type of trip. I look forward to your comments. :D

Damon told me you had posted. His boat is undergoing blister repair and won't be in teh water for a couple of weeks. I'm still waiting on weather. Our nights are still below freezing so I haven't uncovered the boat yet.

April or May look feasible to me. I'll keep you in mind and post as the time gets closer.
