Fished out of Hatteras Friday the 26th. Went south toward the rock pile. Hooked up 30 seconds after first line hit the water and it did not stop for 5 hours. Brought home 6 nice tuna and a citation dolphin. Wish all days where this good.

FYI the only ramp open in Hatteras is in Frisco at the boat dealer there. The rest where washed out and are not fixed yet. They should be done with in the next month.

Nice catch!

How far do you have to go to get into the fish this time of year? I used to live in N.C. as a kid in the 70's and seeing stuff like that is what got me into saltwater fishing and boating. I'll never forget it. Awesome!

We put lines in 18 miles out, just a bit shy of the rock pile. The water temp went from 55 to 68 in about half mile. We used a clark planer board to get the bait down. That hooked up every time. All tuna where caught on naked ballyhoo. We tried several skirts but they just got bit by bonita's. Pulled the fake bullyhoos all day and nothing would touch them, going to give them to my kids to play with cuase they are useless for fishing.

Hac n Sac,
I saw you trailering your boat on Hanbury last Sunday. Do you live around here? I don't know if you saw me but I had a 246 Open. I just got it and am rigging it for offshore. I have just received my TACO outriggers and Grand Slam mounts.

If you live around here maybe we can get together and head south for some friendly competition and some just plain fun.

Let me know.

Jim

hac n Sac,

Nice catch. I'm new to the forum, just been browsing around. I'm looking seriously at purchasing a 24 w/a like you have. How do you like it? I'm in Northern VA near DC and will use it in the bay but would like to keep it in VA Beach during the season to take offshore. Any info you could provide would be great. Thanks.
