View Full Version : Dana Point Thresher 5-21

The plan was to Go over to Catalina for a few days and try to catch a white sea bass. The boss said no to the whole weekend fishing so went out in the early afternoon for Thresher. This one took almost 3 hours on 60 lb. For the first 45 minutes we chashed the fish to get some line back on the reel. The fish weighed in at 247 Lb.

The crew of Quint's Revenge salutes the fellas from Cali on thier Thresher! Way to go ya'll! I hope to get a big shark of some kind next weekend.

Pulling on a Thresher Shark for 3 hours sounds like a nice way to spend an afternoon John. I heard there were quite a few caught in that area this weekend, I'm glad you got one. WTG!! :D

Yep - used the dock lines around the tail and the pectoral fins and tied him off on the swim step. He was tired but still alive on the short ride to the scale. We manhandled the poor blaggert and never used the gaff :shock: He was smacked with the billy before being weighed
