Please let me know (reply to post) if I'm missing any models or if any of the ones in the list above are incorrect (including the official model names). I'm only after the models that were included in regular production (i.e. not any of the test models). I'll be editing this particular post for correction or additions (i.e. the list above). This way, we'll have it all on one post to avoid the confussion.

    Damon,
You left out the official name of my boat. In the brochure it's called just "Cuddy", but I like Stalker much better. It's more rounded than the older Stalker models but it still has the headcap, almost like a walk-thru has, and the center console behind it, like the open. You have the style listed, but the name that KCS picked isn't in there. I think it is one of the least useful names KCS ever picked, and when I was trying to sell it, I found it terribly difficult to actually list the boat and be descriptive. Some of the listing agencies insist on it either being a cuddy or center console, then you have to waste text in the description box explaining the whole thing.

Anyway... Cuddy was like a Stalker in '98, and a few other years, too.

It's not worth doing anything about it, but in '98 they also called all the SPII hulls Grand Slam. That was bright. Then you had a minimum of one number and three names to define your boat. How about a 246 Grand Slam Walkaround? That's a real mouthfull.

Ahhhem, Damon..... the only 20ft cuddy in Western Canada, and you left it out? That's the last time I'm helping you out with Tony's Beer Scale. You're on your own kid

    Man that's alot of models.

I've got a '98 20' that I think they called a WalkAround and not the Predator, even though I like the Predator name better.

Not sure, but I think I recall reading about a 246 Walkaround (keel drive)...can anyone confirm that?

It's a lot of names. Most of those are redundant as far as the configuration of the boats are concerned. There were subtle differences between the Con Walk and Stalker, but they were still the same basic configuration, as was my "Cuddy" model. There doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between Warriors and Predators, from what I can see, either. Then you have the KCS naming convention, which is just as confusing. No... worse.

That's why I am using the old original Shamrock name... and it will be on the boat, before I'm done.

I'm with you on that point. Calling my boat a Cuddy is about as illogical as anything I could imagine. Most people refer to a cuddy when they talk about a WAC or that cruiser type cuddy that you see on those Clorox bottle boats.

My foredeck is slightly crowned, but very usable for a casting platform for net or rod... it's much better named a Stalker than a Cuddy, in my opinion.

The cuddy portion is pretty pathetic for anything but a storage area with a head for those times when nature calls and more than you and the wife OR sons are aboard. I have taken a nap in there, during on-water parties, but there are no amenities that anyone would associate with a real cuddy cabin.

My brochure shows a cuddy and a predator. Predator has no teak or taff rails. Cuddys had both.
