Default Need Help Naming The Shammy

OK I am not over supersticious but a no name boat is as bad of luck as changing the name. I am not the most creative but need some help getting ideas on what to name her. I woulod like to stay away from anything with fish or hook or that common stuff, want to be unique. I am fixin to paint her so a good clean name would be the perfect compliment. Lets have some ideas.

I'm still looking too. So far we are set on Keel-Joy. It's a bit hammy but it's growing on me so far. There are also some scottish names i'm considering. Good luck.

My first thought was cheesy to I was going to name it the acronym B.O.A.T. then in small print under it put the meaning Bust Out Another Thousand but I am getting over that. I also thought about Fishizzle but as catchy as that is just don't think I would like it. I may name it after my dog DIXIE but I do not know about that either. It is a PITA to name a boat. One of my boats names was the Knot-True and I liked it but I do not like reusing names.

I used to keep my boat in the water in FL and it would foul almost immediately, so I ended up calling her "Barnacle Bait".

I have a second boat I've been working off and on, mostly off, for the last 3 years. It's a small 21' inboard made in Norway. I was thinking of naming it Turtle II. This idea came from a quote in a book by Joshua Slocum's son describing an island he vistied with his father. I can't remember the quote exactly but it said "A man living here with a home and a boat is like the turtle who stuck his head in his shell and told the world to go to hell". The boat has a canoe stern and a small inboard diesel. Because of the round stern and slow speed the name fits. Although in boating lingo turtle means the boat's upside down. I'm still thinking on that one.
Be aware that the name will also be your call sign on the radio so you want something that is easily understood and cannot be misinterpeted as something else. Especially a distress call. "This is Mayday calling USCG!!!
My wife wants me to name the boat after her. But if I wanted to be reminded of her I wouldn't go out in the boat. I'd just stay at home. Just kidding Dear.
I haven't had my Shamrock long enough to be thinking of a name for it. Right now "Money Pit" or "What Was I Thinking" come to mind. I'm sure once it's up and running a more appealling name will come to me.
Jim

If you go back with that color that is in your avatar I'd name her Smurfette. It's quirky and cultish in that only those of a certain generation will have any idea what it is. ( I had a '76 Bronco the same color, it was her name too)
